Fiber Collaboration

Last year, Jane Darling and I went to SOAR (Spin-Off Autumn Retreat).  SOAR is basically a convention for all things fiber related, with a focus on spinning.  While we were there, we saw some darling pin cushions.  The cushions were felted balls in a small basket.  Jane is a basket weaver and I am a felter - how convenient!  We looked at each other and decided to make two of them, one for each of us.

This is what we came up with:

Now I have been working with fiber way too long to not already have a dandy pin cushion.  In fact, I really love my pin cushion.  It is a monster of a pin cushion that I made about a year ago to accommodate all my different types of pins.  It is made of some fantastically lime green wool fabric and is a beast of about six inches in diameter.

But my collaboration with Jane is just too beautiful, and so it has become a joy to use for my felting needles while I work!  Oh joy!  Thank you Jane!
